Hi all, here is my last tutorial about the Vector Magic software, a very powerful tool that makes almost perfect vector shapes from low-res bitmap images. It has been developed by a turkey's engineer team who realized this amazing pataphysical application for graphics.

Pataphysical adv - Motorized billboards.

About three years ago my town came out with this new kind of 6 by 3 meters billboards. These are made by about 70 different motorized slices with the final purpose of reproducing the original adv images.
Of course, this is probably a cheaper solution for the large amount of small medium companies of the area.
In fact, instead of buying a fixed place, companies can now split the price among each other...

But nobody seems to take care about the final output.

Adv agencies just think to sell spaces and adv managers just think to save on costs..

But what about the potential customer and his inconcius desire of clearness??
What about typeface dimension rearrangement to increase readability?? and what about different layouting to improve watchers impatc??? U won't probably have time to distinguish little details while driving your car.. furthermore, nobody is going to consider the high average distance looking...

Don't you think it's a bad adv example and, of course, a loss of money'?

Pataphysical design for EXPO 2015 - Final logo challange

This is the final logo couple selected for the next EXPO 2015 in Milan.
The third one is My personal proposal realized along with Emanuele Todini.

What you think about?

In my humble opinion, after a scrupulous reading of the original EXPO brief, they should be immediately out.

1st one. I don't think the egg is the best visual rapresentation for this kind of global event strongly related to science, technology, sustainability, food and culture education. Moreover, i think the lettering is quite poor for the resonance the EXPO should have all around the globe.

The 2nd one has a good color's mix and type, but is strongly penalized by the low readability of the background "2015" writing. I think it's also not well structured to be transposed on other kinds of support but the simple paper. how would it be on a T-shirt for instance????

Bah.. i think that even in turkey they could do it better.

By the way, feel free to comment on my logo too..
